Venezuelan Dudamel takes over LA Philharmonic (Reuters)

Reuters – Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel became music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic on Wednesday at the age of 28, deploying digital tools to draw a younger and less elite audience to classical music.

Microsoft looks to move SourceSafe users to newer technology (InfoWorld)

InfoWorld – With Microsoft set to wind down support for the Visual SourceSafe software version control system, the company is encouraging developers to move over to Microsoft’s more full-featured ALM (application lifecycle management) server, the TFS (Team Foundation Server) product featured in the Visual Studio platform.

Microsoft Covers the Basics With Security Essentials (PC World)

PC World – Microsoft has released its free antivirus software, Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE). As the name implies, Microsoft’s new security software removes the bloated bells and whistles found in other products, like Microsoft’s discontinued Windows Live OneCare, and provides only the essential protection.
